#1.competition history- I did my first competition in 2006. I competed in the figure class at the Western BCs in Kelowna. I placed 9th out of 18 girls.
Since then I had trained again to compete for another competition in 2009 after having my son who was only 10 months old, I needed to pull out of my training half way.
Im looking forward to training again this summer for the Sandra Wickham Fall Classic November 2010.
#2.favorite cheat food- would probably have to be pizza, but not just any ordinary pizza, I would usually throw on a bunch of my own toppings, keeping it relatively healthy.
#3.favorite drink- would have to be water.cant get enough, other than that I enjoy my glass of red wine(or 2) occasionally.
#4.favorite diet food- always be my protein waffle, I can thank Fitness FX for this one! Oats, egg whites, blueberries topped with cinnamon, splenda and coconut oil mmmmmm!
#5 my inspiration- is my mother, this was an easy one..I lost her to cancer almost three years ago. What she did in her life, and what she went through.she was the strongest person I knew mentally. I think about her and it helps get me through those tough mental sets.
#6. children- I have one child, a boy. Preston is 18 months old.
#7. choosing FX- I had made a connection a few years back with Fitness FX during my training for my 06 show.Visiting the Madd Blender frequently for a healthy meal just the way I wanted it! A few years later I was searching for a job, met Cindy- we hit it off right from the start. She offered me a job and after several months I realized I love my job amd love coming to work!!!
#8. How long wiil I train?- Im a lifer when it comes to training, I love how it makes me feel and look..not to mention it gave me my body back after having my son.
#9. favorite exercise- its hard to narrow it down but if I had to pick one it would have to be any version of a lunge- we have a love/hate relationship.
#10. why train with me? Im results driven, if something isnt working, change it! I wont let anyone give up, I personalize every session, making it work ( and not making it easy) for them. I know what it takes to be in great shape. If theyre willing to do the work I will be there every step of the way to give my expertice and knowledge to help all my clients achieve their goals.

Favorite Beverage: H2O & a little red wine at dinner during off-season, maybe vodka and soda?
Favorite Diet Food: Buffalo Taco salad ..Yes you read that right..look for my recipes in an up coming cook book!!! and Halibut!
How long have you been training?
I've been training since I was 18. Started out as a 'cardio queen' doing group fitness, I quickly realized that muscle was where it was at. Women with more muscle looked and stayed younger than those doing cardio alone. Having muscle on your body keeps you young!!
Bodybuilding is my lifestyle. I love training and the feeling of being healthy from eating the right foods. I like feeling strong and still feminine. I think the bodybuilding lifestyle is the fountain of youth. I truely enjoy the process.
What is the most youve ever benched? More than what I weight...lol!!!
Have you ever surprised yourself with you own strength?
Ummm, yes! I totally surprised myself when I pressed 70lb dumbbells one day. Everyone there freaked out because I'm only 5ft tall and have never touched a steroid in my life!!!
Do you get negative comments from people with regard to your muscles?
Well some people are intimidated by it ... mostly men! Some people make judgments based on what you look like, not who you are! And what other people think of me is none of my business ... so it's all good!
On the flip side, though, I have been told that even when I stand on stage I still have the feminine look. I have alot of tattoos and that coupled with some muscle...well? People make judgements about me before they meet me?IYou should see what happens when I say I'm a DURTI GURL!
Determined, Unstoppable, Relentless, Tenacious....an Irresistable!!!!
What are your goals in figure and bodybuilding?
To be a role model and advocate of the Fitness Lifestyle.
To be strong and muscley and still be femine!!
I'm not sure yet, mostly to keep on moving, cause if ya stop moving you'll stop moving.
Do you have a trainer?or Partner?
My training partners are....Courage, fear, Determination, Perserverance.
My trainer and strength and conditioning coach is Dean Brandt.
What are your guiding principles in life?
Fall down 70 times .....get up 71!!!!
Honesty
Passion
Commitment
Thankfulness
I try to live in the moment, for thats truly all we have.
FUTURE PLANS:
Enjoy my journey , compete more as a figure competitor...be an inspiration to my nephew, clients and friends, have a successful business and enjoy the time I am given here. Be a human being ...rather than a human doing!

What Foods Should be Included in your Muscle Building Diet.
Carbohydrate
Complex carbohydrates are one of the most important nutrient to include in any active person's diet. Complex has to do with the organic chemistry structure. Complex carbohydrates are broken down more slowly over time when compared to simple sugars. This is why they are better to include in your diet along with the fact they contain more fiber and B-Vitamins.
Each gram of carbohydrate is worth 4 calories. The rate of which your dietary carbohydrates are broken down varies.
Good Sources of Carbohydrate that can be included are :Oats | Sweet Potatoes Squash | Yams | Beans | Legumes | Whole Grain Rice | Whole Grain Bread | Whole grain PastasEmmer pasta is a great one to include. You can find this at Ralphs market and other specialty food stores.
Proteins
Protein is what your muscles are made of. When you ingest protein it is broken down into its 20+ amino acids all needed for repair for the rippn and tearin ass-kickin workouts your doing!
Each gram of protein is worth 4 calories. Proteins are broken down in your stomach slowly. Protein takes longer to break down than carbohydrates. During the digestion of protein, your body expends more energy than other nutrients.
Proteins to include are:
Bison | Egg Whites | Whey Protein and Isolate | Cottage Cheese | Fish | Chicken | Turkey | | Nuts | Seeds
Fats
Fats are very important for any muscle building diet. Fats serve many metabolic functions including the formation of some hormones. Testosterone is hormoneya thats right..lol!
Fat also plays a role in providing satiety for meals. When you eat fat, it fills your stomach because it is digested in the small intestine. Eating fat with meals slows down your digestion, which can be good for some people with an extremely fast metabolism.
Each gram of fat has twice the calories than that of protein or carbohydrates. Fat can be burned for energy but is easily stored by the body as body fat.
Sources of Fats Include
Walnuts | Almonds | Salmon | Flax Seeds | Medium Chain Triglycerides (Coconut oil is a Medium Chain triglyceride!!!!
